The 3rd International Arctic Seminar IAS'98 follows the successful seminar in Murmansk in June 1997 where 42 papers of authors from Georgia, Finland, Norway, Poland, Russia, USA and Yugoslavia were reviewed. The Seminar is intended to bring together professors, teachers and researchers from universities and other educational institutions.
In 1998 we are going to concentrate on the following topics:
1. Application of computer software, and especially Mathematica 3.0, to education and research;
2. Advanced methods of teaching in physics and mathematics;
3. Problems in Applied Phys. & Math. (optics, molecular physics, plasma physics, chaos and dynamics, etc.)
The seminar will include tutorials in Mathematica 3.0, discussion panels, poster presentation and software demonstrations. The official languages of the Seminar are English (oral, poster presentations) and Russian (poster presentations).

Papers will be presented in oral or poster forms. Authors are requested to submit a 3-5 pages paper in English not later than March 15, 1998. The Seminar Proceedings will be published in May 1998.
